Weekly Sector Update – IGN ($)

IGN is the iShares S&P North American Technology-Multimedia Networking Index Fund. IGN is in the top spot without being in the penalty box. It has declined a bit from last week, but it is still strong.

Investor Take

IGN has a P/E ratio of 26.99 and a yield of only  0.38%. If you look closely, there is a nice blend of well-known stocks in this ETF.  The valuation is pretty rich for most investors and the yield very low.  These are growth stories.  Getting a good long-term return will depend upon continued strong growth in revenue and earnings.

Trader Take

The IGN chart show a lot of strength. There is a sharp uptick, which is always nice to see. The ETF had a big upswing today, which is nice because the ratings are as of yesterday. In essence, if you followed Felix’s signal  yesterday you had a view of green seas today.  [We are not long this ETF because the volume does not meet our liquidity standard, but it might well be suitable for individual traders.]

Model Output

Felix is slightly lower this week as far as the number of ETFs with a positive strength. Median strength remains the same at 14. The number of ETFs in the penalty box has slightly declined, as well. It hasn’t been too exciting this week for ETFs.
